According to Dave Meltzer, the decision by WWE to release Serena was made several days ago and, for whatever reason, news of it just got out tonight. Meltzer also says it was a “disciplinary firing” but no more details have been given out at this point.
UPDATE: While specific details surrounding Serena’s abrupt departure from WWE have yet to be disclosed, it said that she was let go in a disciplinary measure. The Pro Wrestling Torch cryptically notes that she was not “living out” her Straight Edge Society persona in public. The decision to cut the six-time Ohio Valley Wrestling Women’s Champion was actually made a few days ago, but word had not surfaced until Monday night. It would appear that an official announcement has not yet been made by WWE as she’s due to make an appearance on this week’s edition of Friday Night SmackDown, which was taped last Wednesday. She accompanies Luke Gallows to the ring for a match against Big Show.
