WWE Holding Tryouts

WWE.com announced today that Florida Championship Wrestling, the official developmental territory of WWE, is holding a four-day talent evaluation clinic March 4-7 in Tampa, Florida.

NXT season three contestant AJ Lee and Raw Superstar Darren Young are the most notable wrestlers to land contracts with WWE via FCW’s talent evaluation clinic. Both signed developmental contracts immediately following a tryout in May 2009.

Tough Enough Casting Director Contacts Valentine

Lizzy Valentine revealed to fans last week on Facebook that the casting director for the upcoming season of WWE Tough Enough is urging her to submit an application for the USA Network reality show.

She wrote:

 “I was contacted by the casting director of WWE Tough Enough. They want me to submit, but I really had no intention of doing so. What do u guys think? Your opinions are extremely important in this decision!!!”

Valentine has taken part in tryouts before WWE officials in the past, but has never been offered a contract. She enrolled in the 2005 Diva Search contest, but did not make the final cut. More recently, she appeared on Wrestlicious Takedown as Kandy Kisses and worked a tryout match for TNA Wrestling. She also appeared as Evan Bourne’s valet on the short-lived MTV seriesWrestling Society X.

 In May, Beth Phoenix suffered a devastating ACL tear during aWWE Superstars match against Rosa Mendes. She subsequently dropped the Women’s Championship to Layla and sat on the sidelines for six months to recover. “The Glamazon” spoke to WWE.com regarding her road to recovery and revealed that she initially feared that she would not be able to return to the ring.

Ashley Valence Announces She Is Leaving WWE

Ashley Ann Vickers (a/k/a Ashley Valence) announced today on her official website that she has decided to part ways with World Wrestling Entertainment.

“As many of you know, I have had an amazing run the past 6 months with the WWE, but all good things must come to an end, and I am going in a different direction with my career at this time. I can’t express enough how appreciative I am of the experience and friendships I’ve made during my stay with WWE.”

She added that she is moving to Hollywood to pursue an acting career.

The former emcee of the Memphis Grizzlies debuted in June as the co-host of NXT season two. She disappeared within weeks, but would resurface in Florida Championship Wrestling as a ring announcer. She appeared recently on two episodes of WWE Superstars, but disappeared once again.

Brooke Adams (a/k/a Miss Tessmacher) suffered a broken jaw last week, according to her official website, MissTessmacher.com.

She detailed the incident on her Facebook page: 

“The worst xmas I’ve ever had. Got hit my a friend in the jaw. Its now broken in two places. Now in the ER for the 3rd time. It was so wonderful to spend my xmas here in the ER for 9 hrs. Some damage may not be able to be fixed. Please keep me in your prayers. Hope everyone else had a wonderful xmas!”

Former TNA Knockout Awesome Kong was arrested on 12/22 for driving with a suspended license. Kong was arrested at 1800 Orient Road in Tampa, Florida. She was arrested at 11:59 AM and released 1:44 PM that afternoon after paying a $1000 bond.
