WWE Holding Tryouts

WWE.com announced today that Florida Championship Wrestling, the official developmental territory of WWE, is holding a four-day talent evaluation clinic March 4-7 in Tampa, Florida.

NXT season three contestant AJ Lee and Raw Superstar Darren Young are the most notable wrestlers to land contracts with WWE via FCW’s talent evaluation clinic. Both signed developmental contracts immediately following a tryout in May 2009.

Tough Enough Casting Director Contacts Valentine

Lizzy Valentine revealed to fans last week on Facebook that the casting director for the upcoming season of WWE Tough Enough is urging her to submit an application for the USA Network reality show.

She wrote:

 “I was contacted by the casting director of WWE Tough Enough. They want me to submit, but I really had no intention of doing so. What do u guys think? Your opinions are extremely important in this decision!!!”

Valentine has taken part in tryouts before WWE officials in the past, but has never been offered a contract. She enrolled in the 2005 Diva Search contest, but did not make the final cut. More recently, she appeared on Wrestlicious Takedown as Kandy Kisses and worked a tryout match for TNA Wrestling. She also appeared as Evan Bourne’s valet on the short-lived MTV seriesWrestling Society X.

Ashley Massaro Backs to Twitter

2005 Diva Search winner Ashley Massaro has resurfaced online as she has launched an account on Twitter (twitter.com/ashleymassaro11). She explained that she deleted her former Twitter account several months ago due to an ‘asshole (boyfriend) in (her) life’.

She added:

“K so I’m finally breathing again, single and free, like I said I made mistakes- HUGE- like deleting you-never happen again, not fo NO MAN.”

Since parting ways with WWE over two years ago, her public appearances have largely been limited to hosting club parties. She hosted a party last night at The Chelsea Room in New York City.

Ashley Valence Announces She Is Leaving WWE

Ashley Ann Vickers (a/k/a Ashley Valence) announced today on her official website that she has decided to part ways with World Wrestling Entertainment.

“As many of you know, I have had an amazing run the past 6 months with the WWE, but all good things must come to an end, and I am going in a different direction with my career at this time. I can’t express enough how appreciative I am of the experience and friendships I’ve made during my stay with WWE.”

She added that she is moving to Hollywood to pursue an acting career.

The former emcee of the Memphis Grizzlies debuted in June as the co-host of NXT season two. She disappeared within weeks, but would resurface in Florida Championship Wrestling as a ring announcer. She appeared recently on two episodes of WWE Superstars, but disappeared once again.

Melina Nava Perez (born March 9, 1979), better known simply as Melina, is an Mexican American professional wrestler currently signed to World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) wrestling on its Raw brand.

Melina joined the independent professional wrestling circuit before joining WWE in 2004. Initially, she was a manager for the tag team of MNM. She managed them to three reigns as WWE Tag Team Champions, as well as former boyfriend and MNM member Johnny Nitro to two reigns as WWE Intercontinental Champion. Melina made her WWE singles debut in 2005, and is a three-time WWE Women's Champion, winning the belt twice in 2007 and once in 2009. She also captured the WWE Divas Championship on two occasions in 2009 and 2010, making her the third woman in WWE history to capture both women's titles, and a five-time champion overall. Melina was also the first woman in WWE history to become a multiple-time champion in both WWE Women's Championship reigns and in WWE Divas Championship reigns, and the first woman to win the two titles the same year.
